It offers you courses that can help you attain skills you will need on the job, at school, or just in your everyday personal lives.
Every business needs to keep track of the money coming into the business and going out of the business. You track the money with accounting, and this course will introduce you to the basics of accounting in Canada.
Prerequisites: ESLDO Package
Using Simply Accounting, you will be introduced to new accounting procedures for a service company. You will explore specialized journals, subsidiary ledgers and practice previously-learned accounting skills in both a computerized and manual accounting environment.
Prerequisites: ESLDO Package, BTT2O and BAI3E
Using Simply Accounting, you will develop advanced accounting skills in a computerized environment. You will explore and practice the accounting procedures that occur in the normal operations of a merchandising company and a corporation.
Prerequisites: ESLDO Package and BAF3M
In this course, you will acquire a comprehensive overview of all the accounting procedures that occur in the normal operations of both service and merchandise companies. You will use both Simply Accounting and QuickBooks accounting software packages to explore the accounting practices that are used by sole proprietorships, partnerships and corporations. Upon successful completion of this course, you will have learned and practiced two accounting software packages.
Prerequisites: BAT4M

In this course both beginners and more experienced computer users will be introduced to and given the opportunity to practice and use the computer skills and knowledge that are critical for employment and education today.

In this course you will learn how different types of business organizations operate in the Canadian economy. You will learn about the stock market and about how to be a smart shopper, you will learn what your rights are as a consumer (a buyer) and as an employee, and you will learn what your rights and obligations are if you are an employer. So whether you work, plan to work, or just plan to buy stuff, this course is for you!

In this course you will learn about business and trade in the global economy. You will explore the factors that determine success in international markets. Topics covered will include international money markets, marketing and distribution in a global economy and more. If you are interested in business worldwide, this course is designed for you!

You were introduced to word processing in BTT. In this course you will learn how to really take advantage of the features of Microsoft Word by creating real-world documents. Even if you don’t plan on ever working in an office, there will likely come a time when you have to send a letter, a fax or a résumé to someone, and this course will show you how to do it professionally.
Prerequisites: ESLDO and BTT2O
In this course you will learn the most common functions and features of Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets). You will also learn about the power of databases with Microsoft Access. In this course you will also begin to learn how Word, Excel and Access work together. If you really want to know how to use the power of this Microsoft Office suite, this course is for you.
Prerequisites: ESLDO and BTA3O
This course gives you the opportunity to explore the emerging technology of computer-aided publishing. You will learn how to create attractive print media such as business cards, flyers, brochures, newsletters and more using Microsoft Publisher. With Microsoft PowerPoint, you will create attention-getting computer presentations and even incorporate video and sound.
Prerequisites: ESLDO and BTT2O; BTA3O recommended
In this course you will explore the theory and practice the skills needed for effective web site creation. You will learn how to plan and prepare web sites using Macromedia Dreamweaver and Flash. Upon successful completion of this course, you will have created two web sites, explored animation techniques and will understand how effective web page design plays a vital role in the marketing of goods and services.
Prerequisites: ESLDO and BTA3O
Students wishing to acquire a SCAS Information Technology Certificate must successfully complete BTT2O, BTA3O, BTX4C and BTX4E with an average of 80% or higher in each course.
