Our counsellors are available to help you with the following:
- career and educational information, assessment and counseling
- intake and timetabling
- help in accessing social services and personal counseling
- information on all SCAS programs, report cards and credits
- help in applying to post-secondary education
- information on Toronto District School Board summer and night school courses
Counsellors will assist SCAS students to select courses appropriate to their educational goals and help them to plan the steps to realize their goals.
Option selections are final and may not be changed. Therefore, students must plan carefully during the option selection process.
If for personal or medical reasons you need to drop a course, please see a counsellor to complete the necessary paperwork.
If it is necessary for you to withdraw from school, you should consult with the counsellor or vice-principal before leaving. All books and materials must be returned. When you retire, any options you have chosen for the following term are automatically cancelled. It is then your responsibility to re-apply to SCAS by calling 396-6921 and making an appointment with a counsellor. Re-admission to SCAS is not guaranteed. You will be required to pay a new registration fee to re-register.
For all Grade 11 and Grade 12 courses taken or attempted by the student, the percentage and grades earned and the credits gained will appear on the official transcript. This means that repeated credits, failing marks, and an indication that a course was started but not finished will now be part of the official transcript.
